Potter Park Zoo Teams Up with HolidayLEDs.com for a Christmas Light Recycling Drive

HolidayLEDs.com, an e-commerce company located in Jackson, Michigan and the Potter Park Zoo in Lansing, Michigan announced today that they will put on a Christmas light recycling program during the Zoo's Wonderland of Lights event. Participants may bring their old incandescent Christmas lights to the Zoo during the Wonderland of Lights show and receive a coupon for 15% off HolidayLEDs.com LED Christmas lights.

The HolidayLEDs.com/Potter Park Zoo recycling program will commence on Friday, November 27th at 5 pm for the opening of the Wonderland of Lights event. The Potter Park Zoo Christmas lights display features over 100,000 lights. Many of the lights are LED Christmas lights purchased from HolidayLEDs.com. Zoo officials have been working to convert all of its holiday lighting to conserve energy, money and as a part of its overall effort to make sure its events and operations are environmentally sustainable. The current display is a mix of LED and incandescent lighting but the Zoo hopes to convert its entire display to LED by 2012.

The recycling program will run for the duration of the Zoo's holiday display which concludes on December 27, 2009. The display is open to the public Thursday through Sunday from 5 pm to 8 pm (except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.) Those who wish to participate in the recycling program can bring their old incandescent Christmas lights to the Zoo and receive a coupon for 15% off HolidayLEDs.com Christmas lights at admission. There is a limit of one coupon per household.

In addition to the recycling program, the Zoo will give away sets of HolidayLEDs.com LED Christmas lights on November 27 and 29th to the first 12 families who spend $20 or more in the Zoo gift shop. This special accompanies a store wide 20% off sale.
